I am experimenting with making an Infrared camera, and this is the result so far. Currently the only bug left to be worked out is the auto focus wont work on anything over about a meter away. i will have to take the lense back off and check everything is the correct distance away from the sensor, but for now i am happy with it
They are very simlar, although at the moment the camera picks up both the visable light spectrum and the infrared. I will be posting up some results after i fix the focus on the camera, and find the filter i made for it
I thought about made an IR-cam from one of my old digicams, too. The focus is indeed a problem if can not set manually, without (normal, visible) light the camera's contrast autofocus will not work.
